Taipei, Taiwan, Mar. 13, 2018 - The 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report of Delta Electronics, Inc. (Delta) was positively received by Baruch College, City University of New York, which placed it as a top 25 CSR report among 629 U.S. and international company CSR reports analyzed for rigorous content analysis, completeness, and content. In addition to congratulating Delta for receiving the honor, the President of Baruch College, Dr. Mitchel B. Wallerstein, also praised Delta’s high quality CSR Report not just for leading by example within its industry, but for also setting and encouraging a global standard for other enterprises to adopt.

Delta is highly honored to receive this award. The CSR Report helps Delta clarify its strategic development and operational results in terms of corporate governance, environmental protection, and social participation. The company strives to effectively communicate with its stakeholders through transparent information disclosure. Faced with the increasingly severe issue of global climate change, the CSR report also helps Delta establish countermeasures or proposals by reviewing its internal risks and business opportunities. In recent years, Delta has helped its clients adopt more than 470 energy-conserving projects. This has not only saved our clients on operating costs, but also has enhanced their global competitiveness.

The structure of Delta’s CSR Report follows the Sustainable Index G4 version issued by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and has passed third-party verification for its adoption of GRI G4 core indicators, AA1000 Type II and High assurance level. To ensure rigorous information analysis, Delta also undertakes limited assurance engagement according to the ISAE (International Standard on Assurance Engagements) for specific key performance information including plants, green buildings, and products. This year, Delta will extend the report’s assurance scope to 8 products and 18 green buildings.

Baruch College utilizes the CSR-Sustainability Monitor®, a mechanism developed by the Weissman Center for International Business to assess the reporting quality of CSR reports. This tool helps global stakeholders attain an in-depth understanding of the quality of reports issued by businesses. Baruch College also hopes to encourage and promote more disclosure of high-quality information through this rigorous analysis mechanism. Moreover, it also improves the ability of third parties, such as verification companies, to verify non-financial risks, and thus make markets more efficient.

Established in 1847, Baruch College is the most renowned branch of the City University of New York, as well as the first free higher-level educational institution in American history. Baruch College has cultivated the largest number of CEOs of enterprises and senior executives of all colleges and universities in the U.S. Its Zicklin School of Business is currently the largest and oldest public business school in the U.S., and its MBA program has been named as one of the top three in New York City.
